5 pack of Litter Locker Plus Refill Cartridge

This litter bag cartridge no waste no smell5

I have used the Litter Locker Plus for several years and it is wonderful. Keeps the smell down to nothing and the cartridges are very good. I have only broken 1 bag and it was my fault in the last 13 refills(I buy 5 at a time and usually each cartridge lasts for more than 3 months with 2 small cats - cornish rex)!! I no longer follow their instructions (haven't for years). The locker keeps smell to nothing so no need to thread the bags thru the slots and turn the wheel etc. Just knot the end of the new bag and pull out enough to almost reach the bottom straight down. As it fills it will pull down the rest needed and you don't waste any of the plastic bag which is made from sturdy plastic. Each bag holds around 10 lbs dirty when done my way and each cartridge lasts for 3-4 months with 2 small cats. No odor no tears - what more could you want? It is economical.More detail ...

Omega Paw Self-Cleaning Litter Box Large Green and Beige

For those who don't like this--just use it right5

If you put the box together right the loose litter flows through the screen as you roll the box to the right; keep rolling the box and the clumps go on over the top of the screen into the open top of the collection box. Ingeniously simple! (For those who think the CLUMPS need to go through the screen: look at it again. It's probably just a matter of flipping the screen so that it goes from the edge of the collection box downward to the bottom not upward. Leaving the top of the collection box uncovered at the top edge of the screen.)

Some hints: 1) When you roll the box upright again give it a good shake to the right or roll it part way to the left and back upright to bring the litter back into the potty chamber. 2) If your floor space is limited scoot the box leftward as you roll it to the right. As for the litter there is no magic height the litter has to be in the potty chamber; I don't know how some could find this a problem. 3) To fill the box tilt it backward and pour in the litter. To empty it tilt it forward over a trash receptacle.

As for the quality of the box it's just fine; any better quality and it would be too heavy for me to use being up in my years. The latches that hold the top and bottom of the box together could be stronger but face it how often will you need to open it up? After being in use for two months there is nothing sticking to the box yet to clean up and so no reason to open it--maybe this won`t be true with all litters. Based on recommendations I have only used World`s Best clumping litter; it lasts a l-o-n-g time because not much is caught up in the clumps and what is left is still clean not like some I`ve used where fouled or wet bits fall away from the clumps. The regular litter boxes get dirty above the litter line but that hasn't happened yet with the Omega boxes--must have something to do with the shape...

If the latches don't latch smoothly don't put undue pressure on them just check that they are lined up straight and the box rims are tightly together and look to see if there is a little tag of plastic keeping the latches from moving well and take it off with a paring knife or pocket knife.

I got the bigger size from PetSmart for my larger cat. I left the old litter box there until he got used to the new one but he never again set foot in the old box! I got a regular size box from PetCo for my smaller blind kitty so she could have it in her favorite area but my big cat uses that regular-size one just as often as he uses the bigger one!

I LOVE it!More detail ...

Just the Crystals -- The #1 Best Selling litter on Amazon is now even better than before! Even more absorbent and more blue! Perfect for Forever Litter Trays® and conveniently packaged (TWO pre-measured 4.4lb bags per box)

Excellent choice for the ScoopFree self-cleaning litter box5

The ScoopFree automated litter-box is the best thing that's happened to my two cats. They have a clean litter-box five minutes after they're done and I need to clean it just once a week. That being said ScoopFree Litter Tray Refills are expensive running about $150 every two months. So like many others in the "ScoopFree family" I switched from using the pre-packaged trays to the permanent Forever Litter Tray® designed by Rick Weldon. This works very well and has significantly dropped the cost of use and can be used with any crystal litter that is small enough to fit between the grills of the ScoopFree. And therein lie two problems: 1) A crystal size that is too small is less effective at absorbing liquids; 2) Most pre-packaged litter is sold in 8 lb bags (eg. FreshStep) - and each fill of the ScoopFree Litter Tray takes 4.4 lbs.

In one move Just the Crystals solves both problems. It is a perfect fit for the ScoopFree grill and not so small that it doesn't soak up liquids efficiently. Also it is shipped as two 4.4 lbs per box - which is two refills of the ScoopFree. The litter doesn't have as much of a perfume associated with it as FreshStep and is close to being completely perfume-free. The ratio of white to blue crystals is skewed toward white - this makes it easier to visually the state of the litter and rake it if necessary.

Finally what could be more convenient than having it delivered straight to your door? This is a quality product that perfectly complements that Forever Litter Tray®.

I recommend the product very very highly!

[Edited 5-8-2010 with some tips ...]

I've noticed that the negative reviews of this product complain about two issues: a) poor absorbance and consequently more frequent litter changes; and b) odor control. We have two large Maine Coons (>15 lb) and yet change the litter only every two weeks. During this time the cats have used the litter box between 55 - 65 times (about 2 times per cat per day). Here is what we do using suggestions from Rick Weldon's Forever Litter Tray website.

1) We rake the litter twice a week.

2) We have a small fan diagonally above the Scoopfree that continuously blows a gentle breeze on the litter.

3) I scoop the dried poop after 1 week because our cats poop a lot.

4) We clip an old sock filled with 1-2 oz of activated charcoal above the litter box. We replace the activated charcoal in the sock every month but it can probably go much longer.

With the raking and fan no more than 20% of the crystals are water-saturated after two weeks (chalky white or blue in appearance). Scooping the poop at the end of the first week and using activated charcoal provides really good odor control. The fan probably helps with this as well.

Before we started using these tips from Rick's website I had to change the litter every week - sometimes after 5 days otherwise one of our cats Allie - who's really fastidious would pee and/or poop right outside the Scoopfree. I started with steps 1 & 3 and that helped quite a bit; Allie would get queasy around the 10 days time-point. After adding 2 & 4 we've never had an issue for as long as we've tested - which is two weeks.

I hope this helps .....More detail ...
